Ramp up Training and Investment in Remote Working

 

Introduction

Remote work is a work arrangement in which some or all of the work is performed from home or another location. Usually, regular office hours are worked and deviations from that timetable require supervisor approval.

Working from home is the new normal for workers across the globe because the coronavirus spreads through the world. Most of the companies are dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic by encouraging employees to work from home.

There are many ways organizations are dealing with remote working and one way is training.

It is always recommended to initiate clear remote work policies and training but in times of crisis this level of preparation may not be applicable. Fortunately, there are specific, research-based steps that managers can take without great effort to improve the engagement and productivity of remote employees.

Microsoft has created a Guide to Working from Home during COVID-19. This guide was shared with the Microsoft global workforce and a version was made available to customers as an editable document to use with their own organizations. 



Remote working in the Department of Animal Production and Health

During covid 19 in 2020 and in 2021 according to government regulations there were some time period for remote working the department employees. When they were remote working they had to hand over a report of their duties done weekly.

According to Lazarova (2020), "The management and leadership team should be well prepared to lead remote working teams. They should be very well organized and structured. Constant supervision is a must. The good thing with remote work is that the companies can easily start it part-time. There is nothing to lose, the only experience to gain. We truly believe that the ordinary working schedule needs to be changed in order to try new solutions that can boost and optimize the company’s growth and development. "

  1. Remote work is a working style that allows professionals to work outside of a traditional office environment. It is based on the concept that work does not need to be done in a specific place to be executed successfully. As author described there are advantages and disadvantages as well. Since this is now becoming a new normal, every organization should think on grabbing advantages from this concept.

  3. Working from home is a wave all businesses are trying to ride at the moment. Sure, there are many ways to manage a remote team or keep organization culture intact after the whole company goes remote, but we must always approach it by trial and error.
